Step 1: Check the Recycle Bin

O Google Photos has a recycle bin folder where deleted photos are temporarily stored before being permanently removed. To check if your photos are in the trash, follow these steps:

  1. In Google Photos, click the menu icon (usually represented by three horizontal lines in the top left corner).
  2. Select “Trash” from the menu.

Here you will see all the photos and videos that have been recently deleted. Select the photos you want to recover and click the “To restore” to move them back to your main album.

If the photos are not in the trash or in the photo archive, there is still hope.
Google offers a recovery tool that can help you recover permanently deleted photos in some cases.

Follow these steps to use the recovery tool:

  • Scroll down and click “Submit a request to recover your photos”.

  • Fill out the form with the requested information, including the email address associated with your Google account, the approximate date the photos were deleted, and any other relevant information that could help with recovery.

  • Click “Submit” to send the recovery request.
